CREATIVE LISTENING: A Skill of Self-Listening Shared by Psychoanalysts, Authors and Mystics
To be published by Bar Ilan University Press in 2026 (in Hebrew)

Dr. Lester's second book, based on his academic research, investigates the search for inspiration. This research shows that it is often those who listen to themselves closely and with sensitivity who are able to reach inspiration and create transformative words that are capable of bringing about inner change in others and in the world. "Creative Listening" is a skill developed by individuals who understand that inspiration cannot come from controlled thinking but from opening up to the deepest parts of their own soul.

The book analyzes and compares the ways in which therapists, authors and mystics use "Creative Listening" in order to reach inspired and inspiring words.
Therapists listen to their countertransference while working with their clients in an attempt to understand what is happening in the unconscious. Authors enter a dream state from which their poems and novels flow. Mystics and Hassidic masters use the imaginative function in order touch upon a mystical realm of experience from which their sermons and stories are born.

Dr. Lester has published numerous articles about marriage and intimacy on Aish.com.
